Case Study 3 : Transportation Solutions for UN Cargo
AZKA facilitated the supply of UNHRD (World Food Program) Shipments to camp location in Iraq
Project included: Clearance support, interim storage facility and transportation of the Food shipments

WFP UNHRD logistics contract secured by global forwarder entrusted AZKA to provide solution for delivery of shipment stored at UAE
Providing cost effective solutions for storage
Minimizing the delays in shipping due to unrest at south Iraq backed with port congestion
Overcoming the challenges of disruptive forces around the territory
Strategic Solutions offered:
AZKA team in coordination with concerned ministries amended the entry permit and obtain levy exemption approval for clearance of shipment at north of Iraq (IBK/Zakho border)
Provided interim storage prior to delivery of shipment to base camp locations
Cargo shipped to Mersin port in Turkey was cleared on transit out basis and transported to Zakho border where shipment was inspected and cleared for interim storage and onward distribution to specified locations
AZKA local team assisted UNHRD with distribution of cargo to specified site location risking their lives as five vehicle was captured by disruptive forces at south Iraq and a dispute got resolved using local tribal contacts
Outcome:
Client was provided with alternate entry point for future shipping
Three storage locations provided for storage of bulk shipments for WFP with value added service option of co-packing & repacking
Achievements:
All cargos delivered to site locations
Small order quantity was made possible for local distribution at base camps
